On the morning of May 22, 2025, the office of Altas Corp was filled with energy and excitement as it warmly welcomed a group of students from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology (HUFLIT). This event was a meaningful enterprise visit and networking activity, co-organized by HUFLIT’s Office of Corporate Relations and Altas, aimed at providing practical learning opportunities for more than 20 students majoring in Law and related fields.
The program began with a general introduction to Altas Corp. Through a dynamic presentation by Altas representatives, the students gained a clearer understanding of the company’s operating model, its specialized service areas, and its business philosophy, which focuses on quality and long-term partnerships with corporate clients.
A key highlight of the event was the insightful sharing session by Lawyer Lương Văn Chương, a senior legal advisor and partner at Altas. Drawing from his extensive practical experience, Mr. Chương delivered a thought-provoking presentation on the current legal landscape in Vietnam. Going beyond theory, he helped students grasp the gap between what is taught in school and the real-world demands of practicing law in companies, law firms, or in-house legal departments.
He emphasized the importance of both "hard" and "soft" skills that students must develop — such as the ability to analyze legal situations, critical thinking, legal drafting, and proficiency in foreign languages and office software. “Being good at theory alone is not enough. Employers today are looking for people who can apply the law to real-world situations, solve actual cases, work effectively in teams, and communicate well,” he noted.
The atmosphere became even more lively during the Q&A session, where HUFLIT students actively asked questions about internship opportunities at Altas, how to stand out to potential employers, and what makes an impressive application. Many also sought advice on how to define their career path early while still in school. Mr. Chương answered each question openly and enthusiastically, encouraging the students to stay curious, take initiative, and build up their experience step by step.
Following the academic exchange was a warm tea-break session, providing a relaxed setting for students to engage in deeper conversations with Altas legal professionals currently working in the field. This was a valuable networking opportunity for students to gain further insights into the work environment and potentially plant seeds for future career paths.
