WHEN M&A IS MORE THAN THEORY – INSIGHTS FROM ALTAS INTERNAL SHARING

On the morning of August 21, the ALTAS team came together for our Internal Sharing session – a bi-monthly activity designed to spread knowledge, strengthen colleague connections, and foster an open space for meaningful exchange.

“The Secret Behind the Success of the E&D M&A Deal” – The story of how ALTAS provided strategic advisory on financial and tax due diligence, contributing to E&D’s successful acquisition of 95% shares of a garment company in Vietnam.

Keynote Presentation

The program began with a keynote presentation by Ms. Thien An (Partner, Managing Director of ALTAS Accounting, who directly led and accompanied the client throughout the deal). Her talk was both structured and practical, focusing on:

• Definition and essence of M&A, explained in a clear and approachable way.

• Step-by-step process of the E&D deal, highlighting key legal and financial aspects.

• Lessons learned for both the Legal and Accounting teams when engaging in similar transactions.

• Advisory mindset across three stages – Past, Present, and Future, offering a broader strategic perspective in tackling real-world challenges.

A Lively Exchange

The Q&A session quickly became a highlight, as members eagerly raised questions and shared diverse perspectives. More than just a knowledge-sharing activity, it turned into an open forum, where experiences and ideas were exchanged, enriched, and collectively expanded.

Recognizing Active Listening

To conclude the session, a special prize – a wellness head spa voucher – was awarded to Trần Quốc Huy (currently a Legal Trainee), who was recognized by Ms. Thiên Ân as the most attentive and actively engaged participant. Beyond being a small token of encouragement, the gift was also intended to spark enthusiasm, foster team spirit, and offer members a moment of relaxation to recharge after busy working hours.
